Campaigning for
a fairer justice system
Women who have experienced the justice system are often marginalised and unheard, victims of abuse long before they are offenders. Their imprisonment is often tied to acts of survival, driven by economic hardship or coercion from an abusive partner. We believe that a just society must reduce the number of women in prison and end the generational damage to children caused by maternal imprisonment.
What we are doing
Firebird Foundation is nurturing alliances for change. Using our independence to help drive collaborative action, and build campaigns, to end stigma and discrimination, and enable young people with lived experience to drive change.

Together we are focusing on two key areas
