What we are doing
The Firebird Collection brings together works by leading women artists from the early twentieth century to the present day. With an international outlook, it incorporates a wide variety of disciplines and media including painting, photography, sculpture, textile and ceramic. The collection aims to support meaningful discussions around artistic practices and to foster a more inclusive art world.
Since the collection was established in 2020, it has grown to include significant works by artists including Olga de Amaral, Elizabeth Colomba, Tracey Emin, Helen Frankenthaler, Barbara Hepworth, Bridget Riley, Cindy Sherman and many others.
We aim to make the collection accessible to the public through loans to museums and institutions. We also support exhibitions, research and other initiatives that promote intersectional approaches to gender equity in the visual arts.
